"DOUBLE FANTASY" TO BE PERFORMED AT YOKO ONO-CURATED MELTDOWN FESTIVAL

The last music written by John and Yoko Ono, released just weeks before Lennon’s death, will be performed for the first time at a London festival.
Double Fantasy, released three weeks before the former Beatle was shot dead, will be performed at the Meltdown festival at Southbank Centre.

Ono is curating this year’s Meltdown festival, which takes place from June 14 to June 23.
Performers at the event include Siouxsie, Peaches, Patti Smith, Marianne Faithfull and Iggy and the Stooges.
Ono said: “It’s not only a great honour to curate Meltdown in its 20th year, it’s also a lot of fun to be able to invite many of my favourite performers, activists and favourite collaborators to join me”.

The festival opens with Ono performing with her YOKO ONO PLASTIC ONO BAND, and the launch of an extensive film programme at the BFI, curated by Ono and including rare films by her and Lennon.
Also at the BFI, Eisenstein’s classic film, Battleship Potemkin, will be screened for the first time with the recorded Pet Shop Boys/Dresdner Sinfoniker soundtrack written by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe.
Previous Meltdown director Smith will return to Southbank Centre for an Evening of Music and Words on June 21, while Faithfull will take to the stage on June 22 with leading Jazz guitarist Bill Frisell.
Ono has invited Boy George for a very special appearance at this year’s Meltdown, at the QEH on June 23.

ARTISTA HEDLEY WIGGAN TALLA ESCULTURAS MICROSCOPICAS DE THE BEATLES

PAUL McCARTNEY ALL-NEW 2013 "OUT THERE" WORLD TOUR WASHINGTON DC DATE

July 12 at Nationals Park in Washington DC

On Sale Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Local Time

Paul McCartney has added another U.S. date to his all-new 2013 "Out There" tour.

July 12 will see Paul once again in Washington DC -- site of The Beatles' first ever U.S. concert in 1964 at the Washington Coliseum -- for his first public performance since his monumental August 2009 show at FedExField.

As previously announced, the tour will also be making stops May 22 in Austin, TX at the Frank Erwin Center and July 9 in Boston, MA at Fenway Park.

Tickets to the newly announced show will be on sale beginning Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. local time atnationals.com/mccartney. American Express® Cardmembers can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, April 9 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, April 11 at 10 p.m. All times local.
Fans registered with PaulMcCartney.com will have the opportunity to buy pre-sale tickets for this show from Tuesday 9th April at 9am (local time). Fans will need to be registered by 6am (local time) on Tuesday 9th April. Fans who are not currently signed up to the mailing list can do so by clicking HERE! Paul McCartney's "Out There" tour will feature brand new, never before seen production and, as ever, hours of material from the most beloved catalog in popular music, with Paul performing songs spanning his entire career -- as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course The Beatles.

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity. For approximately three hours, many of the greatest moments of the last 50 years of musical history -- not to mention the soundtracks of entire lives -- are magically brought to life as only Paul can do. Last year marked 40 years since Paul's premiere tour as a solo artist and these past four decades have seen him play in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people and even a performance beamed into outer space! Having played with his peerless band of Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar) for over ten years, Paul never disappoints -- as the reviews of Paul's 2009 visit to DC will testify:

"Paul McCartney is the only person in the entire world capable of what happened on Saturday night: He sang his classics for nearly three hours as he presided over an enormously and universally pleasing lovefest at FedEx Field... Macca wasn't stingy in the slightest when it came giving the fans all they wanted -- a whopping 21 Beatles songs were included in the set. He's the definition of a legend... simply one of those shows that left you feeling tingly on the way home." -- THE WASHINGTON POST

"Simply put, this was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I didn't want Paul McCartney's show at FedEx Field last night to end. But when it did -- after a two-hour set and a 30-minute encore -- I think I speak for the rest of the audience when I said I left the stadium satisfied." -- THE BALTIMORE SUN

Paul is throwing himself into 2013 with full force following yet another landmark year in 2012, which saw him conclude his record-breaking "On The Run" tour, release his Grammy-winning Kisses On The Bottom album, accept a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, play at both the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics Opening Ceremony, be named MusiCares Person of the Year, and headline 12-12-12 The Concert For Sandy Relief -- to highlight just a few memorable moments. With the "Out There'" tour and a new studio album in the works, it looks like 2013 will show no signs of Paul slowing down.

The "Out There" tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, visiting both places of historical significance to Paul and new spots for the very first time. Further announcements and dates will be added in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to PaulMcCartney.com for official news and updates.

Paul McCartney has announced the date and location of his first ever date in Austin, Texas.
Paul's all-new 2013 "Out There" tour will land at the Frank Erwin Center Wednesday, May 22.
Tickets to Paul McCartney's historic debut in Austin will be on sale beginning Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. local time at livenation.com and texasboxoffice.com. American Express® Cardmembers can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, April 9 at 12 noon through Thursday, April 11 at 10 p.m. All times Central Standard Time.

Having played with his peerless band of Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar) for over ten years, Paul never disappoints -- as the reviews of Paul's most recent visit to the state of Texas last November at Houston's Minute Maid Park will testify:
"Paul McCartney didn't just turn back time at the Astros ball field, he stopped the clock... The concert lasted nearly three hours, with McCartney never leaving the stage, tearing through songs from The Beatles, his time with Wings, evolving into an icon of popular music, the brightest star in galaxy.... The hits just kept on coming... the sound was overpowering and crystal clear, roaring to the back row and upper deck with ease. There was no need for him to introduce any of the songs. The audience could name that tune in one note... There haven't been fireworks in the neighborhood like that since the Astros won the pennant in 2005." -- THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE
"Seeing Paul McCartney live is a lot of things. It's communing with a spirit that touched millions and will touch millions for as long as humanity lurches forward. It's hearing the bedrock anthems and the proto-everything blasts that made the past fifty years of music so damned interesting... McCartney's set was an exhibition of the past 50 years of pop and everything that is hopefully to come. And would you believe that the man nary took a drink of water, rushed off stage for a costume change, an oxygen treatment, or an instrumental break for two hours? Even still his energy levels were off the charts, for anyone of any age... Some legacy acts touring these days, even a decade younger than McCartney, could never keep up." -- THE HOUSTON PRESS
The "Out There" tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, visiting both places of historical significance to Paul and -- as in the case of Austin -- new spots for the very first time. Further announcements and dates will be added in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to www.PaulMcCartney.com for official news and updates.

BEATLES FAN PLANS TO RECREATE THE DAY THE FAB FOUR CAME TO NORWICH

The Beatles at the Grosvenor in 1963.

Friday, May 17, 1963 was the day Beatlemania came to the city, when John, Paul, George and Ringo performed at the old Grosvenor Rooms, in Prince of Wales Road, supported by local band Ricky Lee and the Hucklebucks.
At the time, The Beatles had made an album, released Please Please Me and were on their way to becoming a household name.
They were a definite hit with the Norwich gig-goers, with excited fans snapping up the tickets. The queue on the night to get into the Grosvenor Rooms stretched all the way back to the old ABC cinema further up the road.
Half a century on, the Grosvenor Rooms are no more – with a KFC fast food restaurant now on the site instead – but The Beatles’ music continues to be as popular as ever, and to mark the anniversary of their Norwich visit Mark Cousens, from Tasburgh, is organising a tribute night in the city.
He has already booked Them Beatles as the tribute act to the Fab Four, and is now looking for a local support act.
“I grew up listening to The Beatles because of my dad. It was the first music I can remember hearing,” said 29-year-old Mr Cousens.
“I just think they are timeless. Obviously I wasn’t there when they first came along, but they changed everything and inspired so many people to pick up the guitar and write music. I often wonder what things would have been like if they had not come along when they did.”
He said that over the years he had read a number of stories in the Evening News and EDP about the 1963 concert.
“I read about the original Norwich gig in 1963 and the date kept coming up in my mind,” he said.
“There’s been so many Beatles’ anniversary events going on recently and I thought it would be nice to do something to mark the anniversary of The Beatles coming to Norwich.” With the Grosvenor Rooms no longer there, Mr Cousens has picked The Studio at The Waterfront for the tribute night which will take place on Sunday, April 21.
Mr Cousens said: “After putting on a punk gig with a friend at The Waterfront’s upstairs room, The Studio, last year, with its capacity of 200 it seemed like the perfect place for a recreation of an early Beatles gig. It’s intimate and up close and personal.” He added that he had booked it as close as he was able to the actual anniversary.
Now he is looking for a support act.
“I am looking for someone who can play a lively 30-minute set, preferably older music in keeping with the time, although it does not have to be strictly 1960s,” he said, adding that he was encouraging people coming to the event to dress in 1960s attire.
Anybody interested in being the support act should contact Mr Cousens by the end of the week by emailing vandelaypromotions@gmail.com or finding him on Twitter at @VandelayPromo and @MarkEverclear.
The Beatles tribute night is at 7pm on on Sunday, April 21. Tickets cost £12 in advance and £14 on the door. To book visit www.ueaticketbookings.co.uk

LET IT BE... NAKED ON iTUNES

The Beatles

Let It Be, As Nature Intended.

Let It Be… Naked

Let It Be… Naked Makes Its Global Digital Debut On iTunes Today

When The Beatles first set out to make Let It Be in 1969, they intended to record an album that would be a return to live performance. No studio effects or overdubbing of voices or instruments would be allowed - just the bare necessities of the band.
Let It Be… Naked is the stripped-down, return-to-live-takes album that The Beatles originally aimed to create, free of vocal and instrumental overdubs or added effects.
"If we'd had today's technology back then, it would sound like this because this is the noise we made in the studio. It's all exactly as it was in the room. You're right there now." PAUL MCCARTNEY
In addition to the 11-track album, the iTunes LP features all of the original booklet art and liner notes, as well as bonus audio of studio banter captured during The Beatles' 1969 recording sessions for Let It Be.
iTunes
Music videos for the "Naked" versions of "Get Back" and "Don't Let Me Down" are also exclusively available on iTunes for download purchase and free streaming.
"It's just us playing, in our best voices, it's very honest." GEORGE HARRISON
Over the next couple of weeks we will be celebrating Let It Be… Naked in a few ways. We are launching a series of five special podcasts featuring tracks from the album, original archive sound from the making of Let It Be, and interviews with Paul, George and Ringo reflecting on that period in The Beatles' career.
The podcasts will be featured on the Let It Be… Naked site, or alternatively catch them on Facebook and Twitter. The complete version should be available for download on the iTunes podcast store shortly. It will be annnounced at thebeatles.com
Today, in Chapter One, we explore the process of making the original Let It Be album and film; why Let It Be… Naked has been released as an album distinct from the original Let It Be, and where The Beatles were at as a band at the time of recording.
"The music always surpassed any bullshit we were going through; once the count-in happened we turned back into those brothers and musicians." RINGO STARR
Amazon
Check out the Let It Be… Naked flickbook - you can find the podcasts, animation, music previews, artwork and more.
We are also running a video scavenger hunt - find the four clips on the web - watch the The Beatles Facebook space to find clues!
