STELLA RECIBIRA ORDEN DEL IMPERIO BRITANICO

Stella recibirá este reconocimiento por sus méritos en nombre del Reino Unido al diseñar personalmente la equipación que los deportistas ingleses lucieron en las pasadas Olimpiadas. En total, 500 piezas que sirvieron para representar al equipo británico en las Olimpiadas y Paraolimpiadas de Londres 2012.

Stella puede sumar un reconocimiento más a su exitosa carrera en la industria textil: recibir una Orden del Imperio Británico, uno de los galardones más prestigiosos del Reino Unido.

Gracias a este reconocimiento tan prestigioso,Stella completa un año inmejorable en el plano profesional. Ella arrasó en la pasada edición de los British Fashion Awards al hacerse con dos de los galardones más importantes: Mejor diseñador del año y Designer Brand, que sirve para distinguir a aquella firma que durante el último año ha tenido mayor impacto internacional.

Y es que durante el 2012, consiguió abrir su primera tienda en el Soho de Nueva York, lanzar su fragancia Lily y Stella, su segunda línea de ropa interior.Además, la colección que presentó en febrero durante la Semana de la Moda de Londres no pudo recibir mejores críticas. Sin duda, este ha sido el año de Stella.

STELLA MCCARTNEY, 'GOD PARTICLE' SCIENTIST HONORED

STELLA McCartney, who designed the uniforms worn by Britain's record-smashing Olympic team, and Scottish physicist Peter Higgs, who gave his name to the so-called "God particle," are among the hundreds being honored by Queen Elizabeth II this New Year.

The list is particularly heavy with Britain's Olympic heroes, but it also includes Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor, eccentric English singer Kate Bush, Roald Dahl illustrator Quentin Blake, and Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the royal aide who helped organize the watched-around-the-world wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton.

McCartney was honored with the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire, or OBE, in part for her work creating the skintight, red-white-and-blue uniforms worn by British athletes as they grabbed 65 medals during the 2012 games hosted by London.

Preview with Anne Hathaway and Solange Knowles

Last night Stella McCartney held an intimate preview of her Spring 2013 RTW collection with a slew of VIP guests.

Notable guest included Anne Hathaway, Amy Poehler, Jim Carrey, Lauren Hutton, Greta Gerwig, Emily Mortimer, Solange Knowles, Marilyn Minter, Helen Marden, Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley, Glenda Bailey, Roberta Myers, Ingrid Sischy, Olivia Harrison, Sandra Brant, Cindi Leive, Graydon and Anna Carter, and many more.

The event was held at Marble Cemetery, guests enjoyed drinks by Belvedere Vodka and music from The Soul Rebels Brass Band.
