Former Beatles publicist Pete Bennett has died, a close friend has told Orillia Today.
Bennett was a colourful and gregarious character, who regaled local audiences with first-hand accounts of his time with the legendary band, during an appearance at Orillia’s inaugural Beatles celebration.
The ultimate insider, Bennett was promotional director for Apple Records, as well as representing many other A-list artists over a long and distinguished career.
He visited Orillia in the years after the original Beatles celebration, and often dropped by the office of Orillia Today, always arriving with a broad smile and an armload of stories.
